Flowers of Transformation
The Lotus flower is a remarkable creation of nature because the flower emerges from the dirty and muddy bottom of a pond. The magnificent bloom remains untouched and unstained as it rises up and out of it’s murky soiled surroundings. Its notable feat is considered the embodiment of transformation in the Hindu and Buddhist traditions. Its unique quality is said to symbolize the human who rises from the darkness of the world into a new illuminated way of thinking and living.
In Tantra the symbol of transformation is the Rose, because the Rose has a sweet fragrance and looks beautiful but it also has thorns. This is what it is to be human. We have thorns. The ability to wound others, strike out in a bad mood, in angry words or a violent temper creates isolation and loneliness. We human beings also have the ability to heal with the sweet fragrance of our words, creating appreciation, connection and love. These actions support opportunities to share heart-centered affection and touch. Creating meaningful bonds with our fellows deepens interconnection and changes the world one relationship at a time.
I hope you’ll join me on the journey.
